English Language Learners (ELL)

Speaking more than one language has many advantages ranging from understanding and appreciating people from other cultures and countries to fulfilling language requirements for college entry. The English Language Learner (ELL) Program at Mililani Waena Elementary School provides supplemental language support to students in grades K- 5 whose first or native language is not English. Currently, the bilingual students of Mililani Waena’s ELL Program together speak a total of sixteen different languages! These extraordinary students face and meet unique challenges every day.
