Principal's Message

January 22, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Happy New Year, and welcome to a new decade! Our second semester of the 2019 – 2020 school year is already in full swing. I hope you and your family had a great winter break and were able to spend some quality time together with family and friends.

Our second quarter was filled with many successful event including our annual fun fair.  Thank you to all who supported our school at this event.  During the second semester, we will have many exciting activities. We will also have our annual complex Character Counts Fair in April, and our Mililani Waena Spring program, (May Day) on May 22, 2020.

I would like to send a big congratulations and job well done to our 2 students who represented Mililani Waena with pride in the American Savings Bank Keiki Co. competition. These two students had to come up with an idea of a new product and then develop a marketing plan. Mililani Waena’s students, Troy Goto and Adrian Lee, won the People’s Choice Award for their product called the Instafood. These students won a cash prize of $5,000 for the school. Thank you, students, for your efforts and help making Mililani Waena a great school.

Safety Concern: Parents, please slow down and drive with caution; when dropping off and picking up your child.   Many children are moving to and from cars in the parking lot and drop off area, which is a safety concern. We also ask you kindly follow the directions of our crossing guards. They are out there trying to ensure the safety of all our students, so please respect their commands and directs. Again, our students’ safety comes over our parents’ convenience. Thank you very much for being a part of our caring community.
