During the 2013-14 School Year, Mililani Waena Elementary School applied and was selected as a pilot school to take part in a project to study the impact of technology and digital curricular resources on teaching and learning. As a pilot school every student in Kindergarten to Grade 5 and teachers received a 1:1 digital device equipped with a Common Core-aligned digital curriculum for English Language Arts.
