Grade 5 - Mrs. Holder's Class

Course Description

Welcome to 5th Grade!

     My name is Verona Holder and the 2019-2020 school year is my 15th as a teacher. I earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Miami in Florida, and a Master of Arts in teaching with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University in Georgia. I have taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade in Georgia, California, and Hawaii. This is my 4th year as a teacher at Mililani Waena and I am sure that it will be my best year yet!
     A little about me...I have three children, Jalen is a freshman in college, Justin is a junior in high school, and Vyaari is in third grade. My husband, my children, and I enjoy hiking, taking daily walks, watching movies, and traveling to other states and countries every chance we get. We are enjoying every minute of our time on this beautiful island and I look forward to making many more memories with my new class.

Continuation of Learning

Hello 5th grade families!

The fifth grade teachers are collaborating to create enrichment activities so students are able to stay engaged during this time. All of these activities require a device and internet access. A list of the activities will be on the Mililani Waena website starting Monday, March 30. You will also receive a phone call from administration with instructions. These activities are scheduled for March 30-April 3. 

Please email me back and let me know if your child DOES or DOES NOT have both a device and internet access by Thursday, March 26, 2020.

We are so lucky to have Mrs. Seatriz at our school as the new librarian! We have a wonderful selection of books. Students were permitted to check out 3 books today. Please take care of them, and bring them back to school before our next library day in two weeks.
