hi everyone this is Misty actress today I wanted to talk to you a little bit about Sora ebooks and I know many of you are already using our story book still very good but we like to get more of you using our shared ebook collection and quickest way to access thousands of ebooks audio books and read along digital titles and this is provided to all public school students so we should really take advantage of this wonderful collection and it's so easy to get started all you need to do is visit Elementary School website and that store the URL right there and we will inject the second take it away trees reading challenge end what helped the state of Hawaii and our school reach our reading goals Statewide goal is to read 8 million minutes by the end of that means by the end of this year twenty I'm in line Wyandotte Elementary School goal is to read 120000 minutes by the end of fall so your challenge is to read and track your minutes via being stuck and I will show you folks had to do that in just a minute and when you do check your minutes are you automatically start earning rewards which are virtual badges Elementary School website where there are directions on how to get books and how to participate in our reading challenge here is our school website is go to grade levels and scroll all the way down to library and once there you need to scroll down again to school year 2020 2021 now what's here you scroll down again and here you will find information on Sora the links on how to get into the the Sora program and if you need a little bit more help you can click on this link here which has on tutorial videos yeah so let's just go to our story link and this is what you should see and it says my school is Hawaii State Department of Education you collect there and then it says sign into Hawaii state Department of Education number your first time on storage this is what you probably will see once you're logged in teachers can actually assign things to you but they probably won't at this time and over here it will show if you have any books borrowed which I so to get started you can either click on find a book or you can put down here to explore any books that you have on reserve or books that you checked out any books stop before your history and this is information on you how many times you logged in to store a so on and so far but we want to find a book so we're going to go to explore now there a different way you can search in the bar here by typing in the title of the book or an author you can just scroll down if you want to write and it has popular subjects you can explore all the different subjects by clicking he just click on collection now I always like to go for popular read along because these books will be read to you and if you scroll I already see one of my favorite books here was all the dark by Peter Reynolds and I want to read a sample cuz you don't want to borrow it yet you can click here or I know that I want to borrow it so I'm going to click on borrow and hear the book download are you me and we can start to narration so kind of go like this good job. I'm returning to this challenge because I already started if you haven't started yours are probably say start Challenger or something like that alright so here is an overview how I am doing so do you see these virtual badges that are colored that means that I earned them already so I have learned up to 300 minutes I still have these virtual badges that I need to earn still all right so I got to keep breathing now once you just register for this challenge you will get the registered for challenge bag when I feel to challenge I'm going to get this batch if I go to logging badges again it'll show me which badges I learned so far which ones I still need to earn now there are Tiffany's that you can do I already did one activity so I have the monk seal badge but I still have to be at the Nae Nae so if I click here I can do this activity to win this batch in Herndon I was just show all the ones that are in so far and my challenge log shows the books that I have read so far for this challenge so I finished the book small space reading with rabbit I want to login minutes because I read a book today so I'm going to click on minutes here today's date is the 18th alright I already logged in some minutes but I'm going to see if I can log anymore so I read maybe 20 minutes today and the book was start. All right and then all I press it log and I have another batch that was unlocked now I have the Niihau Island cuz I have read now 360 minutes so yay. If I look at my log now the. Is now included in the books that I have read so far all right spell that's how easy it is to log in your minutes and when badges so I'm going to go and I hope all right meeting and earning badges let's get to our goal 120 Minutes all right
