Principal's Message

October 10, 2017

Dear Mililani Waena Parents and Guardians,

We've had great first quarter of the 2017 - 2018 school year as Critical Thinkers in Action (CIA)! Our students, as CIA agents, wowed us with their amazing work which you can begin to see in their digital portfolios and parent conferences starting mid-October.

At our Quarter 1 Recognition Assembly, our student council officers were entertaining as CIA agents who tried to solve the mysterious disappearance of Captain TRRFCC. Congratulations are also in order for the academic and citizenship awardees and students who earned perfect attendance.  A big mahalo to our second and fifth grade students who promoted great character through songs about Trustworthiness and Responsibility.

This school year, we are continuing our attendance policy to ensure students miss the fewest number of school days possible. We are committed to providing the best education to your child and can only do that if s/he is present at school on-time and every day s/he is able. Please make every effort to be on-time to school.

Friendly Reminder: During school hours, all visitors (including parents) must sign in at the office and receive a visitor’s pass before going to a classroom or anywhere else on campus. This is one of the easiest ways to help ensure your child’s safety at school. Any individuals seen on campus without a visitor’s pass or student release form will be redirected to the office. Please also remember, when signing out your child early from school, a valid ID must be presented at the counter.

Thank you for your cooperation and I look forward to a memorable second quarter!

Sincerely, Principal Troy Tamura
