address during this time of the coronavirus pandemic if you were wondering what does kapu mean in Hawaiian for grandparents but I'm trying to think of some stories that have to do with our kupuna our grandparents I thought about Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Park a book written by mem Fox and illustrated by Julie Vivas it's a very sweet story about a boy named Wilfrid Gordon and how he has a special love and respect for our kupuna it was once a small boy called Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge and what's more he wasn't very old either his house was next door to an old people's home and he people who let their he like mrs. Jordan who played the organ he listen to mr. husky who told him scary story he played with Mr tippet with I'll Cricket you run errands for Miss Mitchell but his favorite person of all Nancy Allison delacourt Cooper because she has he called her and told her one day we'll free Garden heard his mom and father talking about Miss Nancy thing that his mother because she's lost her memory is Father it's not surprising that his mother after all she is 96 what's a memory as Wilfrid Gordon he was always asking question remember his father Gordon no more called on mrs. Jordan he called on Mr Hudson I told him scary stories what's a memory he asked something from something from long ago he called mr. ticket with crazy about cricket what's a memory he asked something that makes you cry by something that makes you laugh something that makes you laugh you called him mr. Drysdale who had a voice like a giant what's a memory he asked something as precious as gold he look for summer on the puppet on strings which always made everyone laugh and he put that in the basket to remember the sadness the middle which his grandfather had and him and he placed it gently next to the shells next he found his football which was as precious as gold and last of all on his way to he went into the house and took a fresh warm egg from under a hen each one by one what is Dire Straits child to bring me all these wonderful things she held the one egg and told Wilfrid Gordon about the tiny speckled blue eggs in her  Garden she put a shell to your ear and remember going to the beach by tram she touched the metal and talks daddy of the big brother she had loved who had gone to war and never returned she smiled at the puppet on strings on her sister porridge she bought the football to Wilfrid Gordon and remember she had met him and all the secrets they had told and the two because Miss the and so if you should ever question why should we continue staying home when social distancing wearing masks and following is Coronavirus pandemic are six pillars of character trrfcc in terms of trustworthiness are you doing by keeping everyone safe like our kupuna during this time in terms of respect how is it showing Respect by following these guidelines in terms of responsibility if we wear our masks and continue social distancing are we being responsible in terms of fairness is it fair if only some people continue to follow the guidelines in terms of caring care enough about others and yourself to continue what needs to be done to stop the spread of coronavirus and citizenship are we being good citizens by thinking about the safety of others over what we want and a good example of that would be our First Responders so everyone continues to be safe for yourself for your family and for your kupuna and for our community take care miss you lots and we'll see each other soon
